Gotta hand it to you folks your delivery is amazing quick only ordered yest and its arrived today just intime for me to put a session together for tonights training, been flicking through the drills book and the dvd and some preety good practices in there, but it is a little bit confusing at times would help if there was a live version or slide show to go with this, i bought the usb pack at same time and got to say not as many drills and practices on there as hoped for feel they are a bit of a let down in comparison, maybe you folks at the FA should combine the 2, so that the book has a slideshow that goes with the drills which will help better understanding for those of us that are slow! all in all a great resource to learn from :) will deffo be making my fellow team mates have a read

I have just started coaching my sons under 9 team. I thought the 250 page 'practices' booklet would be the main attraction. Its very good indeed with about 100 well presented/quality practices for age 5-11, 20 for keepers and about 60 for 12-16 & 17-21 ages. However - I was surprised to find that the most interesting part is the 120 page philosophy booklet! I found it invaluable (far more so than the practices actually) particularly in relation to topics such as how kids grow/develop/learn, young player attributes, the role & effectiveness of coaches, age appropriate coaching, the four corners model etc. A bit pricey to be honest (the philosophy booklet should be out there for every coach for free if you ask me as its the fundamental underpinning of the whole coaching ethos/model) but a worthwhile investment nonetheless. I'd be surprised if this lot or something similar wasn't dished out free with the FA Coaching Awards - but as I live in Wales I have to do the FAW Coaching Awards instead and have to pay :(

This is an extensive, well written and insightful piece of work. It's well layer out with a good balance between text, pictures, colours and facts. Every coach should be given this when they attend any FA coaching course and every and any coach should read and understand it - no matter what age/level they are coaching at.
