| | Regardless of whether you are a naturally lively and enthusiastic coach or quiet and shy, there are particular personal qualities required by all coaches for them to be effective. These qualities need to be harnessed with coaching skills so that you can help the individuals you coach to achieve their potential and enjoy football. The qualities of a good coach might include enthusiasm, patience, open-mindedness, fairness, knowledge of the sport, a desire to learn and a willingness to help other people improve. Without these positive personal qualities the most skilled technical coach might not be able to help people learn effectively.
